So what is APB like with cheats?

This site confirms what I was afraid of, that APB was full of cheaters, I mean... seriously.. I've never sucked so bad in a game.

On another thread I read the first legit reason to use these hacks, however I'm still bothered by one issue.

If I'm using hacks, and the people I'm fighting are using hacks, then.. is the game still any fun?? Now that we've removed skill from the equation?

I mean, what is the point then? I know my skill has nothing to do with my lose or success, so what is the purpose of playing if I remove all challenge from the game? I can't really brag about it and have it mean anything. "I'm so awesome!" Because I'm not, it's a cheat doing the work for me.
I'm not testing my skills and proving I've got the right stuff.

I've logged enough hours in APB to know that 'teamwork' and 'skill' do play a large role in success in APB. If I'm aimbotting, I lose both of those critical 'fun' elements from the game entirely.

Sure, like having sex with a hot chick is exciting at first, but even that gets old after awhile if she's an air-headed control freak.

Which leads me to my next thought.
If I'm not cheating, why am 'I' still playing?
Unless I'm willing to solo my way through, which kinda defeats the point of the game, and avoid combat at all costs, am I still having fun?

Just because you are using a hack, which does give you an advantage, doesn't mean you're going to uberpwnface everyone. Skill is still envolved, at least with this hack. I get plenty of deaths. As far as teamwork goes, just because you're using a hack, doesn't mean you can't play with teammates. I promise you, hack or not, you won't be able to take on 3 players. I play with my clan mates all the time, and we still lose plenty of times. So i think what i'm getting at is, before you make these assumtions, try the hack out for yourself

also, the hack is what you make it. You can make it very obvious that you are cheating, by running around and hitting them every time with a full auto gun. Or, if you still want to use skill and still have an advantage, turn the aimbot off and just use your ESP (hud) to flank enemies, etc. That way you can cheat and not feel as bad :P

I'm not trying to bash you for making those statements, i'm just trying to give you an idea. People hack for different reasons. Use the hack for whatever fits your needs.

Yeah, there are hacks out there that pretty much make you "Un-Stoppable".

You can even use this hack to achive some degree of it. However, you can still be killed.

And if you are not trying to be so obvious with it, you can still be killed a lot.

Lots of people hack, and a lot of them do it for the most "God-Like" "Unstoppable" effect they can get.

Me, I just want a little bit of an edge. Also, if I run in to another hacker, with the edge, I want to be able to be at least equal advantage points with him/her. (Sort of take the law into my own hands type thing).

Furthermore, a common misconception is that Hackers don't have any skill. If you totally suck at an online video game, chances are that hacks are not going to give you that much of an advantage. At least not this one.

What you would need is a hack that keeps you from taking any damage. In order for you not to need any skill to use the hack.

Sorry guys, while i think this hack makes you pretty decent when it comes to aiming i also think people got a fair chance to kill you when they play smart. Perfect aiming isnt an "I win" button. you still have to play smart or the other side will get you...

Amazing rationalizations going on here. Cheating is cheating and when you do it you are certainly in the wrong no matter how small *or* large of an ''edge'' you get. You can justify it all you want saying things like omg omg omg there are so many cheaters in apb that I have to cheat to be on equal ground, but that is all it is a justification to make yourself feel better and to not feel so guilty about doing it.

When you pay for a cheat, what you are paying for is to ruin your enjoyment of the game in the long term. In the short term you may say oh yeah I am having so much more fun since I am not dying as much. But in the long term you are going to have your character maxed out, stuffed with money, all contacts, done, have all the best gear and perhaps the same thing on a bunch of alts... then you will be bored outta your skull. When you are bored because of maxing everything out with cheats do us legit players a favor and not complain on the apb forums that you are so bored *or* that the game sucks and is boring because I have seen enough of you tools doing that. Which is why I came here to post this and what better thread to do it in.

But...as it is, APB is bot infested and if you want to stay competitive and not get shafted by the botters you best have one yourself.

No. The problem is that RTW does not have a functioning anti-cheat system. I and the other botters are not the disease but just the symptoms. If APB tanks it will be because of rampant cheating and game breaking bugs which are both the fault of RTW rushing the game."

I think your very finite mind just had a lack of creativity there. Strawman much? First off it sounds like I am talking to Net here, because you quoted him "botters are not the disease______" like a nice little kool aid drinker that you are. If you want to ''compete'' you better have a bot? Holy fucking shit are you kidding me, please tell me you are not that stupid. Using a cheat is not competing it is the polar opposite of competing. It is doing what you can to negate competition, it is doing what you can to avoid having to compete. Nice try there with all the rationalizations/justifications but guess what, they are just that... excuses.

I''ll say this... until I started running into a bunch of cheaters every time I was trying to get a decent bit of fun going on I wouldn''t have coughed it up either... I''ll be keep the functionality turned off until its obvious I''m playing against a bot... and then run into the same bot for 3 *or* more missions in a row... there''s not enough players to simply switch instances all the time, the problem still exists.

That said, most of the time I don''t use cheats in any game including apb... unless it''s for single player stuff where the storyline is more interesting to me than the gameplay itself.
